Mrs B - On Trend

Dahlings, you know how old Victoria Beckham is always carrying that baby around -Harpo - like some sort of uber accessory? (actually I must admit I love that baby, such a gorgeous grumptious little face).

And you know how old Beyonce now has little Blu-Ray?

Well I don't like to be left out....

Yes, dahlings, my very own adorable Mini - Me...

Now, suggestions please for a name (not sure whether it's a boy or a girl, I don't want to force any gender stereotypes on my sensitive little poppet..)

The person who comes up with the best name* will get an EXCITING PRIZE which I haven't thought of yet but will probs be a nail varnish in a dodgy green colour or Colin the Cheese  String (in fridge since 2009) and a couple of squashed mini choc eggs from under Boy 1's bed ..

By the way, while we are talking celebrity kids, do you know this?

hilarious...

*Rules: I will decide on winning name in totally capricious and unfair way; filthy names will get extra credit; my decision is final and my word law; competition open to all ; also I  totally reserve the right, should I feel like it, to give the prize to my friend K who gave Boy 2 the Mini Blighty and who lives across the road so I would not have to queue up at the post office to send off the prize which could be a bit tiring...

  1. Dear Mrs Blighty, This is what comes of getting up before 6am - a post from you! I do like capriciousness! At the very least it keeps one's spouse and offspring on their toes. The baby is lovely and it can be such a useful accessory having one (especially with nanny hovering in the background to pass baby to when we get fractious - I find that we really need our sleep these days!). I wish I could think of something truly filthy to name him/her but for some reason the only name which comes to mind is Mushroom - can't quite think why - possibly inspired by all those Sunday Roasts or such things other celebrities have named their children. You might then simply refer to him/her as the The Blighter. Must go and do Staff Sergeant impersonation... love Lindaxxx

    1. Like Mushroom - reminds me of the joke about mushroom theory of man management - keep them in the dark etc etc

  2. I love it !!! Congrats on your baby!!! She is adorable. Babies are the New Black.

I think Oprah should be the Godmother and you you should name her any of the following:

    *Swaddle
    *Stalwart
    *Oprah
    *Symphony
    *Quince
    *Betty Draper
    *Bromeliad

    Hope I win! x

  5. As a teacher, there are quite a few names which bring back haunting memories of classroom chaos blended with stationery projectiles. Therefore, here are my suggestions (we are going uber-celebrity-crazy by the way:

Cosima(It's all about the universe at present)
    Perseus
    Mimosa
    Mitford
    Lilac-rose
    Luna
    Bliss or
    Marilyn

All the best with the appellation process.

    Fifi

    1. Fifi B, these are all excellent but I would expect nothing less from someone called Fifi! I really like Luna, though Perseus is lovely too, and we could shorten it to Percy..

  6. What about wine themed names? Like Merlot for a boy or Semillon for a girl. Or vice verse. If you needed you could easily double barrel them up - or have a whole family of Cabernets - Cab Sav, Cab Merlot etc. The possibilities are endless.

  7. Firstly, thanks so much for your lovely reply to my comment and for being my first follower! I now have the task of coming up with post number 2 :).

Secondly, I'll definitely have to come up with some names for the new addition to the blog. I do love the idea of Elton and Oprah as godparents - just imagine the presents!

    Melusine x

PS: I notice that Elizabeth Hurley and Shane Warne are engaged - can't wait for the Blighty post on that!!

  8. Oh well hello yes I follow Suri and delight in her wicked ways. She's on Twitter too. Blights you really need to be twittering it up with us girrrls because we have a jolly time tweeting words of wisdom (unless of course you are already twittering and I'm unaware heaven forbid)

On the theme of Suri and celeb offspring who are unfamiliar with the art of standing on ones two legs and walking, the only moniker I can conjure up while sipping my first morning cuppa is..
    Joined at the Hip.
This name could be shortened to J-Hip, Jip, Joip, Jo-Ip, HipJ, the list is endless.

You know what, I had a baby and it looks exactly like yours - except during the delivery mine got a bit of string with a rubber cap at the end attached to its head. Weird Hey??

  11. Blighty,
Love your new baby and I wish I was clever enough to think of a name!

Okay Suri's burn book is a hoot. Just wasted the rest of my evening on it. I don't know who is writing it and finding these pictures, but it made my night. Another reason I don't have a new post..

  12. Name for baby:

It has to be 'Shat' what with the other blog post. could be short for Shatner - in hommage to the great William.
