Thank You Letters Sorted

Since childhood I have been a fan of the unsavoury school boy above, Nigel Molesworth. He even has his own entry on Wikipedia!

Imagine my delight when I discovered that the book above contained this ready-made thank you letter, thoughtfully prepared by dear Nigel. This is exactly what Boys 1 and 2 need right now and it should make thank you letters this year relatively painless. I reckon I need only tie them to their chairs for 2 hours this time. Hurrah!!

The book above cost 20p in the UK and 0.65 dollars in Australia back in the Dark Ages. Feeling old. Going for lie down. Then I shall look for the rope. To tie boys to chair. Of course.

  1. dear blighty,

i love/applaud you for your persistence in turning your boys into men, even if it does require rope. v few people make their kids write thank you notes anymore.

  7. Dear Mrs Blighty, I had never thought of rope - what an excellent idea! Christmas was so chaotic what with hot and cold running cousins and assorted multigenerational rellies that we have to do a forensic dig through the suitcases and apply gestapo questioning techniques to work out who gave whom what. I have to gird my loins to do that as frankly keeping up with the washing while on holidays seems to be all I can manage. I do wish you could be here with your boys as it is lovely and warm but not too hot and I think you would like all the Sauv Blanc that my Dad keeps plying me with - I feel three sheets to the wind after lunch and dinner. The boys would like running mad with the horses, the dogs and the kangaroos. But that not being on the cards, I hope that you occasionally barricade yourself in your bedroom and lie under your doona with a box of choccies and read one of the lovely books Santa bought you for Chrissie. love Linda xxx

  8. Dear Blighty,

Never mind boy 1 and 2, I need to take myself in hand and get onto that form toot sweet.

I have a thank-you note that I really, really need to write.

One of FF's contacts gave me the most beautiful, thoughtful gift before Christmas and I am ashamed to say I haven't fully expressed my appreciation.

Possibly, I need to tie myself up.

  11. Hey Blights, Hellllloooooo from Bergen.
I've been released from the floating Nursing Home, have thrown off my walking stick, hearing aid and knitting needles (FF 2010, I'm a joiner) and am on land in a town full of Viking Museums, and it has Internet as well - HEAVAN darling.
RE FF, and the "SECRET", how tempting was it to write about the Marlene Birger Dress that "Princess Mary Stole" (FF 2010)?
    The Same dress,
    Two slim Stylish Australians,
Both Preggers!!!!!! (overuse of !, Blighty 2010)
Tell me you were tempted to write something very funny about that.

PS Hmmm, I wonder if there is another secret FF is keeping, could she too be expecting twins, there could be something about that Dress?

    Lots of Love
    Will email soon,
    Louise
