In Which the Nice Lady from Disney Makes A Young Boy and an Old Mummy Very Happy

On Friday while Boys 1 and 2 were at school, the postman rang the bell at Blighty HQ and handed me this package. Of course, I had no idea who it was from but it was addressed to Boy 2. Very exciting.

When he got home from school, Boy 2 examined the parcel carefully, looking for clues.

Here is an action shot of Boy 2 getting to grips with the package. Don't ask about the green hanky attached to his hand.

Wow! A Wii game. Brill! Apparently this game is much sought after by the Club Penguin cognoscenti.

And look, badges and iron on thingies!

And this is Sensei, he is the Business in Small Boy World. And the coin attached to him is, I am told, super fab, as you log it on the 'puter and this means you get 3 trillion million Club Penguin coins and can buy an IKEA style sofa for your igloo. ( I may have got this a bit wrong but that's the gist of thing, I think).

And a dinky little Club Penguin bag, essential for Puffle transportation.

And make your own Puffle Christmas tree decorations - Boys 1 and 2 set to work, leaving red felt tip pens uncapped on the bed (Standard Operating Procedure, obviously).

Boy 1 stuffed this one with paper to give it extra volume. Nice.

So thank you so much Nice Lady from Disney, that was super generous and kind of you, we are thrilled!

Now listen up Hermes and Rolex, you need seriously to raise your game!

NO BEDCOVERS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS POST, EVEN BY RED FELT TIP PENS. THERE IS A GOD.

PS - agree with the fashion houses needing to lift their game accordingly.

  2. Fabulous!! Wonderful when people with stuff read your blog and send you things! I still don't know what a puffle is though - will be sure to learn before I have children though!

  4. Dear Mrs Blighty, How exciting to be Boy Two. My Youngest has given me a hard look of disappointment. While she has declined to be asked to be adopted by the Superior Blighty family, she has asked why I don't blog (no whippersnapper a la Willow available). She is now maintaining a dignified silence. I foresee the purchase of more Club Penguin games for her DS from Father Christmas (you clever marketers at Disney!!!) Eldest daughter has interjected to say that she is available for adoption by the glamourous Mrs B. I am now compelled to ask what was the story with the green hankie?

  5. I can imagine how excited Boy 2 was to get a parcel...and applauding Disney for their thoughtfulness.

I do hope that Rolex and Hermes reps are reading your post today.

and why is the green hankie is tied to Boy 2's hand?...I had to ask...

  6. You are hilarious!!! Am I redundant?

What a find, I'm not just following you, I'm running after you.

Plus, any woman who takes accessorizing seriously definitely has her priorities in order.

  7. Dear Linda I am sure your daughters are very pretty and terribly sophisticated and I would be quite in awe of them, Boy World is such a different place.
Dear Linda and Hostess - Boy 2 will kill me later for mentioning his hankie: he has a teeny weeny hankie fetish (yay, finally i get to use the word "fetish" on the blog). When the boys were tiny I was v frazzled - I saw a parenting book that described toddlers as having all the activity of an international airport but with the air control tower not working and Boy 1 certainly was like that bigtime. so I popped both of them into nursery for 3 hours a couple of days a week - Boy 2 was really quite tiny and was a bit unsure about it, so I left him with a muslin, as he seemed to like holding it - and that has become his comfort, relaxation thing...he now has a selection of hankies, but I have real battles trying to get them off him and into the wash...I think I'll stop there!! For me hankie = maternal guilt.
Hi Tish Jett, welcome and thank you for becoming a follower, you have just boosted my total number of followers by 310% although my Maths ability remains the same (v challenged).

  9. I wrote something very cheeky and it got lost? That's teach me! It was last night too - no way I can remember it now, on Monday morning.

  10. But I'll try to remember.

I think I bragged about trying to win the Willotus necklace by being a FF comment pest.

I may have asked if the Slow Cooker is an appliance or part of a vignette?

There was definitely a comment about the puffles and penguins, it's gone to heaven though - can't have been very funny!

    Love
    Louise

  11. How lovely for the boys to receive a gift from Disney. It must be Puffle heaven at Blighty headquarters.

  12. The only thing I'm likely to receive from someone reading my blog is either a death threat, or an invitation to give up my freedom and live a secluded life at her majesty's expense. Legend Jnr is still excited making things with egg cartons thankfully.

  13. Dear Mrs B, I will now confess that I had a pillow when I was a child which I cuddled when I sucked my thumb (didn't stop until boarding school). No other pillow would do. My mother would identify with you; she said that it was a battle royale when it needed to be washed. She never sent me to childcare so go easy re the maternal guilt. A certain other person only just stopped sucking her thumb and the child of a friend (the friend is a wonderful mother) sucks the legs of stuffed soft toy puppies at night - curious isn't it? (they have a number of them which they put regularly through the wash). love Linda

  14. How very nice of the lady from Disney. And I absolutely agree - let's lobby Hermes and Rolex for sure! x

  15. Dear Linda, both my boys are big thumb suckers as well - recently Boy 1 asked me to buy him some lotion stuff to put on to stop him but then rejected what I bought on grounds it tasted nasty, did I miss something somewhere???
Legend - this is first time I ever got sent anything and I agree that more likely outcome is visit from Social Services/men in white coats; well done for the egg box craft activities, you are obviously a Top Parent; the few times we tried that sort of thing it ended in tears, recriminations, bloodshed, senseless violence - and that was just me trying to find the glue..

  16. Boy 2 has such lovely hair! It has a beautiful color and it looks so silky and soft I just want to lay my head on it and caress it.

    ...

    ...

I'm not some old man who likes young boys by the way. (Honest!)

  19. Blighty, NO don't tell anyone yet, it's still so hard!
It's up there with writing essays for Uni.
We'll keep it a secret, just between us.

PS. I promise not to stroke and caress your hair in Londontown.

  20. The only freebie I'm likely to get from my blog is either a) the offer of an internal examination or b) a visit from social services.

Well done on the freebie stuff!!!!
