Unexpected Flare Up

What's wrong with this picture?

Dahlings, I am staring in the face of a Total Fashion Trauma: it appears that flares are back.

In the Great Decluttering of 2011, out went most of my flares - I mean, they were soooo 2002!

If you need me, I'll be sulking in the corner, or possibly scouring the charity shops for my old trousers...

If all else fails, I shall embark on an anti-fashion protest and wear these....

  2. LOL! I still have mine from several (not sure how many) years back, I would guess 4-5 yrs. All of them J Brand could not bring myself to throw them out so I'm well kitted out already for this trend whoopee!

Although I do prefer straight leg or skinny on the whole Elle x

  3. Like you, mine went to the charity shop last time round.
I have visions of a little old lady somewhere in Hertfordshire rocking the Hippy chic look.
Hope you have a lovely week,

  4. Oh gosh, I hope this is a short lived trend. I just don't think flares are super flattering on anyone.

  10. I still have flairs - sort of bootcut things. I never thought I'd be in a skinny jean again, but I'm never out of them these days. The moral of this tale is - keep all your clothes FOR EVER!

  11. Oh dear, I got it all wrong...I thought what was missing from Victoria's photo was a good feed.
Then as I scrolled down I thought...oh, maybe what's missing is a proper hem..all those pants look way too long and scruffy.
I think from this you can safely conclude that I am well beyond middle age, and certainly should never be seen in flares again.
But, I did read that culottes are also on their way back. Culottes!(So long ago that I forgot how to spell it!) I probably still have mine from 1988 somewhere....however I seem to have misplaced my 1988 figure...

  12. Dear Renie - yes culottes, I remember those too! I had a very fetching (?) pale yellow pair which I used to wear with a matching pale yellow top - I must have looked like anaemic buttercup...don't think I can face culottes the second time around...
